Tutorial- Rainbow Gradients part 2

270
So yesterday I did the pink to blue gradient, today I have for you the yellow to red gradient. I think this came out really cool even without further blending, it looked like a golden fiery wing. Totally awesome :) Can't wait to replicate this one for a going out look. As I was doing this though, I found that I do not have a very good, bright orange. I love the color I used, I just didn't have something that could compete with the red.

I started out this eye the same as the other, Foiling Jazz and then Super Sailor Moon by Persephone. This is a light, shimmery yellow, really gorgeous. I didn't spread this one out as much as the pink-blue gradient, and kept it tighter on the inner eye.
253254
Then I applied a brighter yellow, Usagi, also by Persephone, next. I applied it on a narrow tornado shaped band, wider at the top and bottom with a blended strip between them.
256257
Next I applied Venus Crystal Power, with a little bit of another TKB kit orange that was slightly darker. This I applied more in a large boomerang around Usagi.

I confidently skipped a step with the photos, I thought I had gotten each one but I was wrong, sorry guys! What you didn't see was me apply Princess Mars, Persephone, around the edge of the orange. I left a small triangular space to put the next color, Love Bite by VIE. I curved that down the edge of my eye and again repeated the colors along my lower lid.

All cleaned up, like I said, I thing it looks awesome, but I need a bright orange. :)

Tutorial- Rainbow Gradients part 1

250
So recently I went over to my moms house for food and pool time, and had two of my best friends over. We splashed around and one complimented my makeup and was curious how to do it, so I decided to make a tutorial on it, since it's another one of those looks I do all the time. I like having rainbow eyes :) So here I have a pink to blue gradient, and a yellow to red gradient. We'll start off with the pink-blue for part one, and the yellow and red for a part two. Here we go!

I have no photo for my first step, but I clean my face up, and then I apply a layer of Candy's Sweet Treat's  Foiling Jazz. I know that's not how most people use it, but since my shadow stick ran out a few weeks ago, that's what I've been doing and it seems to work fairly well, so I'm gonna keep on until I get a base/primer! I let it set until it feels just the slightest bit tacky, then I go to work. If something gets too tacky before I get to it, just the tiniest bit of dampness on a pinky lets it get sticky again. Allright, so then..

I started out with VIE Mew, it's light, but you should be able to see that I followed the contour of my eye and I wanted this look to be big, so I went much further over my crease than I normally do. I pulled this color out to cover about half my lid, I'll be blending on top.
228230
In a fan shape I spread out a second darker pink, Swoon by Facebomb Cosmetics. I try and blend into the lighter pink. I pull the dark pink along the edge, creating a very slight crease line above the light pink.
232
On top of Swoon I start brushing on Vicious, also by FC. Again, I'm following a sort of boomering shape in my blending, I didn't want straight lines between the colors, but a soft curve that sort of mimics natural shadows.
233
Again, I add a darker color, this time Harlette by VIE, just along the edge of Vicious. Still following my boomerang curve. I also keep curving the outside edge in a similar shape to my eye with a more rounded, flared outer corner.
234246
Finally I add The World by VIE to the corner, finishing the shape around my eye and blending down around the corner of my eye. Then in the same order as on my lid, I spread the colors below my eye, blending out into The World.

Product; I could have blended more, but I was trying to show the basic shapes I apply before I go in and blend the crap out of it. :)

Caturday #23

When my cats were young, they wanted to be on top of EVERYTHING. They sat on my shoulders when I sat, they would climb up our legs, they wanted to be the center of attention at all times.

Caturday #22 Better late than never?

Kitties had a fun day this week, they found a grasshopper and played and played and played with it. In the end it actually survived and hopped away seemingly unharmed. I'm sure it felt a tad elated to be away from my three demons XD.

I feel pretty, oh so pretty...

7.29.11
Glorious make up!! :) I just love bringing stuff out and looking at it sometimes and just playing around, so I took some pictures, my cats stole a few pots and I had to rescue them, and now I'm gonna break down my stash!
7.29.11
Cupid wants one, badly.

On the left, just trying to show the relative height of this basket full of goodies. Right- overview of my scarf covered in make up!
7.29.11
This is the majority of my collection, all of the ones with the green seal on the top (and then some) are eyeshadows I made with the now discontinued TKB Pop! Mica kit. I have around 100 different eyeshadows from that kit, it's crazy. I've run out of jars and have about 15-20 that are in baggies still.
7.29.11
The rest of the three stacks consist mostly of samples. From Persephone I have a full sample sets of Sailor Moon, Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Mars, and then I got the remaining 3 samples from the Sailor Mercury set, and the remaining two 'Crystal Power's from the Venus and the Chibi Moon sets, along with two random samples. From Antoinettes revolution Cosmetics I have four eyeshadows; Versailles, Marie, Gardens, and Guillotine . Included in these three stacks are several stacks of Aromaleigh that I got from her sell out grab bags, I am incredibly saddened that I didn't order more, and didn't ask for more blue and green! The Oops baggies held SO much, one color I had to fill an entire stack, brimming over and even having to take the sticker off and add some above it to fit all of the pigment. After that, I filled a pot and then cleaned off the bag before folding it over and taping the open end down. I've also received many from friends, so now I have a nice aromaleigh collection! Finally, there are four TKB Pop! micas that were left over from my kit, finally at small enough amounts to put into the pots XD, and a few eyeshadows a friend made and sent to me, and that's it!
7.29.11
In the above and below photo you can see the membership sample of "School Yard Crush" from Rockeresque , a Morgan Cryptoria sample in "Mystic Midnight", an Aromaleigh Oops! in an adorable whippled jar from a friend, a sample of Sugarpill's "Absinthe", a BFTE sample, a Scaredy Cat 3g cute jar in "Dee's Nuts", three smaller MAC samples, two larger MAC samples, a totally unknown sample, a sample of "Robot Takeover" from Fyrinnae (omg T_T), a sample of "Damask" from ARC, two geek chic samples in "Ugghhh...Brains" and "Hyrule", a 3g Bad Habit in "Martin Mean Green", and an Aromaleigh glitter sample of "Strangelove".

Above are five Orglamix shadows I received from a friend, since then a few things have come to light about Orglamix that makes me not want to promote them myself. I checked these labels and none are relabeled, I still use them since none look to have unsafe ingredients, but they are by far the least used of my stash right now.
7.29.11
Above you can see the baggies I mentioned from my TKB kit, and below them my Futurama Collection that I won from Altered Ego Cosmetics. :3 You can also see my set of 21 full size, and 1 sample, VIE. :3
Below are three samples I won from Unique Pigments (I enter many contests >_>) And oh my I love them!
7.29.11
And finally, A whoooole bunch of Facebomb Cosmetics samples! I ordered a sample of everything in her etsy shop at the time that she was having a nice sale, she included many extra and I ended up getting I think 40 samples for 20 bucks shipped! Not bad at all I'd say. I love how glittery and varied they are, I can't wait to try them all!
7.9.11

Well, I hope you had fun having a virtual perusing of my pretty, glittery stash of goods. :) I'll edit this later to include links to all the shops mentioned, if they're still around.
