Crystallization Thursday

So today's lab was very complex in that it had many, many steps. First, we dissolved a substance in some water, below. Then we filtered it, boiled the filtered liquid until it crystallized, stirred it up a bunch and then chilled it until it was about 1.5 ºC. Then we filtered THAT, and then we saved both of our samples to test on another lab day. Sadly my camera had not been charged so I didn't get a picture of the white slurry that came from cooling the filtered liquid. It looked really cool!

Sorry I haven't been posting much! I've been exhausted this week with a test every single day, plus a major paper was due yesterday. So I've been going make-up less for the week. Today I did a really simple look with some Aromaleigh colors! :D I ordered their mega-bag mystery pack, and OMG these are awesome!! Not only that, there is definitely enough product in one bag to fill two jars each. I only had one bag fill a single jar, and I had to PACK it in. Needless to say, it is WELL worth the $16+2.95 S&H. No full face today, because I have broken out big time from all of the stress :(.

Caturday #11

Throwback again! I'm using photos from July of 07 today, I just randomly picked a folder and it had a large amount of cat photos in it. Haha. So here the guys are when they were about 6-8 months old I think. They were like lanky teens, XD.

Oh and I had strawberry blonde hair.

My cats are well read. hehe.

Eggs in a nest...or

Eggs in a basket, or toads in a hole, or many other names people told me was the 'real' name! Haha, gotta love differing cultural and geographical terms. Anyways! if you are like me, you have never heard of any of these things, I was not lucky enough to have this made for me in the mornings. I am so glad I found this recipe though, because this is quick, easy, and super delicious. Next time I do this I'll go step by step with photos, this time I just have end products. I first saw a recipe for a eggs in a nest (eian hereon) sandwich, which I can't find now of course. Anyways, I obviously had to try just plain eian before going for the sandwich! First, I obtained the top of a spaghetti jar and thoroughly cleaned it out. Taking out whatever size bread you want to use, just use the top to 'screw' down into the bread and cut out a hole. Or you can rip a hole with your fingers, up to you! Just remember that the thickness of your bread is going to affect how your egg sits, if you're using large eggs have a thick piece of bread, or a large hole. Then you just toss a small pat of butter or whatever into your pan. Let it heat up a bit and then throw all of your soon-to-be-toast into the pan. Let the bread toast fairly well, then flip and immediately add an egg into each hole. Let the egg cook long enough so that you can slide your spatula up underneath. You can either eat as is when it has cooked through, or you could flip it over for an over-easy type of egg, which is what we prefer here. I also toasted the inner circles of bread, creating little disks to sop up the yolk.

Here are two pieces of eian! I also put down a slice of cheddar cheese on them, srsly perfect!

Cut open and you can see the gooey inside, yum.

For our sandwich here, of which my bf's was MUCH prettier, but I made it first and he had already eaten it by the time I was done making mine :(, I just took two eian and sandwiched the cheese parts together with bacon :D. Sadly, when making my sandwich, the egg escaped the toast, not forming a full seal with the toast, and caved in as you see here. O.O Despite not being the most gorgeous sandwich ever, it was extremely delicious and it should be in everyone's tummy at least once.

 So for my look today, I asked my friends to choose a number between 1 and 30 and whoever was closest to my guess choose my colors. Well, someone guess my exact number with the colors, orange green, purple, and black. Not a combo I would normally choose on my own, but it came out looking really cool! I used my own TKB colors (orange and purple), a nameless black, and my ARC Gardens (green) tester. :) I used Candy's Sweet Treats Foiling jazz as well as a Hard Candy glitter stick as the base. Also! There was recently a discussion on a MMU FB group I'm in about glasses and makeup. So I decided to wear my glasses for my full face photos today. I wear glasses all of the time, and only take them off in photos so that you can see the makeup. A fellow blogger, the painted moonkin , had extremely rude comments left on one of her posts, and links to her post on FB, simply because she was wearing glasses in her photos (she also had a few photos without glasses, but apparently that wasn't good enough for the commenter). I have to say, that wearing glasses does not 'detract' from my makeup, because my glasses are basically part of me. I cannot see without them, I'm near sighted, I never go without my glasses for vanity's sake. To say someone shouldn't wear glasses while taking pictures of their makeup is like saying that you should change an integral part of who you are in order to be 'prettier'. So to say that my glasses detract from the way my makeup looks just seems very, extremely, vain to me. So there you are, just a little bit of my opinion on that.

 The black come in around the very edge of the crease, but the flash washed it out, in person you could see the darkened purple. To me this reminds me of like, a sunset or something. I don't know, but it turned out very cool!
